Issues

Stafford County is at a crossroads with increased demand on services and flat budgets.  We need a practical approach to governing and focus on the issues that are important to Stafford County residents. My priorities are to increase funding in areas that improve our quality of life such as teachers, roads, parks and public safety.  We can accomplish this by reducing wasteful administrative spending, managing growth, and ensuring development pays for itself

Funding Quality Education

As a mother with three children in Stafford County Public Schools, I have a vested interest in ensuring that our schools provide a quality education.  Our educators are making a difference in our children’s lives and I am committed to recruiting and retaining superior teachers.  As your Supervisor, I will ensure that our schools have the resources necessary to provide the education that our children need to excel.

Managing Growth

I believe that growth management continues to be the number one issue facing Stafford County.  Uncontrolled growth and development can have a devastating impact on our roads and schools and I believe that development should pay for itself.  As your Supervisor I will require that adequate infrastructure for additional development is addressed as we grow – not after.

Fostering Economic Development

I am proud of my service on the Economic Development Authority.  Stafford is growing jobs faster than any other locality in the region. Businesses provide more tax revenue to Stafford than they use in county provided services.   As a small business owner, I understand what businesses need in order to thrive in our community.  By attracting industry to Stafford, we increase our tax base, reduce traffic on 95, and make Stafford a community where we can live, work, and play.
